GREAT WHITE Agrees To Pay $1M To Station Fire Victims
September 2, 2008According to The Providence Journal, GREAT WHITE, the band whose pyrotechnics set off the disastrous fire at The Station nightclub in 2003, has agreed to pay the victims $1 million, in a tentative settlement agreement announced this afternoon in a federal court filing.
Covered by the settlement agreement are band members Jack Russell, Mark Kendall, David Filice and Eric Powers; its former tour manager, Daniel M. Biechele; the band's manager; the agent who booked the band, and the band's record company, Knight Records.
The $1 million being offered to settle the victims' federal lawsuit claims is the amount of insurance held by the parties, according to John P. Barylick, one of the lawyers who represents the victims.
